joyarte takes part in annual fashion awards
Can we just say how excited we are right now??
Once again, we are werking it with Style Lush TV at this year’s San Antonio Fashion Awards! The most stylish, hip and glam from the area will grace the scene at the Tobin and take the Red Carpet by storm at the most dazzling and fashionable event of the year.
joyarte (pronounced hoy-art-tay) is again proud to be one of this year’s sponsors, along with the prestigious likes of Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, City of San Antonio Dept of Arts and Culture, Ken Batchelor Cadillac, Southtown Arts District, and the Agency Model and Talent, just to name a few.
And we are over the top ecstatic this year, as our own Priscilla will be the award presenter for the Menswear Designer of the Year category. To add even more to our giddiness, our joyarte designer jewelry will adorn a few gorgeous ladies on the Style Lush TV team, including the executive producer herself, the ever-glowing Burgundy Woods.
The high point of activities for the evening will be the awards presentation, where a distinguished group of local artists and companies who have made a mark in the fashion industry this past year will be honored. The nominees for the ‘Of the Year’ awards comprise numerous categories including Womenswear Designer, Menswear Designer, Fashion Retailer, Fashion Event, Hair and Makeup, Fashion Photographer, Magazine, and Fashion Blogger.
And if that wasn’t enough excitement for your fashion plate, this year the San Antonio Fashion Awards is partnering with the Fashion Group International San Antonio aka FGISA, who will present their local Rising Star award for 2107. FGISA is the local chapter of an 80+ year national organization in New York that was partly founded in 1930 by such fashion and beauty icons like Elizabeth Arden, Helena Rubinstein, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Edith Head. The group was gathered by Edna Woolman Chase, who was editor in chief of Vogue Magazine at the time. Their vision was to promote women in all aspects of the fashion industry, and continues that mission in NY and many other FGI chapters across the world to this day.
Yes, all that! And along with musical entertainment from DJ Catwalk, and a runway show with breakout designer Daiquonne Lanier.
In addition to the honoree presentations, the event benefits SMART – Supporting Multiple Art Resources Together. Founded in 2005, S.M.A.R.T. is dedicated to building communities through art education, community outreach, exhibitions and residency programming.
It’s going to be a whirlwind of an evening, and we at joyarte are thrilled to be part of it while we continue our support of local fashion in San Antonio!
