"I was honored that IADT selected joyarte jewelry couture to be the exclusive jeweler for this event," said Priscilla Martinez, joyarte jewelry couture designer and owner.

The fashion show, which will happen tonight on the Rio Plaza, got its inspiration when Ms. Montiel attended a previous student fashion show. Having been impressed with the student design she saw then, she wanted to enlist students to design dresses for her to wear at the upcoming 2010 Grammy Awards.

Along with IADT and Telemundo, Ms. Montiel's staff set up a student competition to design evening wear, cocktail dress, and a sportswear outfit, all outfits she would require for the various events leading to the awards show. The student entries were all presented at a fashion show held at the school and attended by local media.

"It was a fun evening with a lot of excitement from these young designers just entering into their fashion careers," said Martinez "I was glad to work with them in this collaborative way."

The winning entries from that show will appear on tonight's runway event at the Rio Plaza San Antonio.

IADT approached joyarte jewelry couture to provide the exclusive jewelry accessories to accompany the fashions created by the students. joyarte jewelry couture designed new jewelry creations to match specifically with each of the outfits. Ms. Montiel was set to wear the jewelry at the Grammy Awards, as well as at events before and after.

"The jewelry we designed for Ms. Montiel matched her style perfectly," said Martinez. "We hope to catch a glimpse of the winning outfits and our jewelry during the awards show broadcast, most especially if she comes to the stage to accept an award in her category."
