Fashion Group International (FGI) San Antonio announced today that Priscilla Martinez of joyarte jewelry couture had received their annual Rising Star Award in Accessories. Begun as an annual award in 2009 during the inaugural Fashion Week San Antonio, the Rising Star Award recognizes a San Antonio fashion community member whose work demonstrates fashion forward instincts and represents the future of San Antonio fashion.
FGI presented the Rising Star Awards in twelve categories on November 5, 2010 at the Going Green/Night of Stars Gala, part of Fashion Week San Antonio 2010. The awards honor excellence in various fashion mediums, such as fragrance, accessories, and design. The awards differentiate between the small entrepreneur and larger companies contributing to the fashion scene in San Antonio.
"I am honored to receive this recognition from my peers in support of my work," says Priscilla Martinez.
Voting came from the FGI membership. Nominees did not have to be an FGI member to receive an award or be nominated.
