Local Designers Runway Event to Benefit Military Families Here at Home

SAN ANTONIO, TX
Friday, August 19, 2011

Couture by Calley and joyarte by Priscilla Martinez announce an exciting fall runway event, entitled Fashion en Haute, to be held on Saturday, September 10th in Hemisfair Park. The event will feature a runway show highlighting the fall and holiday collections of the two local designers. Ms. Gonzalez will showcase a sleek clothing collection with an emphasis on simplifying the classic wardrobe style for the office and after five. The resplendent jewelry designs of joyarte will complement the garments, making wearable and empowering statements for a confident woman of style.

The two local designers will team with the San Antonio chapter of HeartsApart, a military community group created to assist military families in times of crisis, such as deployment or geographic separation. "Programs like Hearts Apart are a vital part of the support that is provided to families of deployed military members.  Having been on both sides of active duty as well as having my spouse deployed, I understand the issues that every family goes through during that time," says Calley Gonzalez, owner of Couture by Calley. "The activities and informal programs that Hearts Apart provides offer a connection to other families going through many of the same issues.  Through those connections, families can find supportive fellowship, education, guidance and assistance for the many needs they may have."

As part of the program, Fashion en Haute will include a pre-show with dancers from Arthur Murray, a networking cocktail hour, a Meet-n-Greet with the designers as well as the sponsors, and displays of the designers’ collections and sponsor information.

Representatives of HeartsApart will be on hand to offer more information about how to get involved. Several military spouses, who are first hand experiencing the challenge of a soldier away, will serve as special guests. As part of the festivities, these spouses will be honored as the stronghold who binds the family together as their loved one completes his or her military mission requirements.

"When Calley and I decided to team together to create this fashion event, I knew it would be significant to also include a local charity or cause,” adds Priscilla Martinez, principal of joyarte jewelry couture, who is helping produce the event. "In these difficult times in our nation with so many families separated by war in the Middle East and coupled with a strained economy, it’s important to support endeavors at home. We can’t wait to treat San Antonio audiences to an event that gives back to the community by helping our own."

For attendees wishing to add to their fall and holiday wardrobes, both Couture by Calley and joyarte jewelry couture will offer special promotions and discounts for anyone preordering during the event.

The event will be heavily marketed to local businesses, like boutiques and shops that may have an interest in having local designer’s work sold in their stores, as well as the fashion minded public. These days, with an urgent need to stimulate local economies, this event helps supports the huge trend towards buying local. With buyers building relationships with designers in one’s own backyard, the home-grown rewards can only multiply in a positive way.

About joyarte jewelry couture:

My design aesthetic seeks to integrate a number of the art influences in my life as well as draw from the beauty in nature and the man-made I find in my travels. My goal is to incorporate the essence of movement with color, historical tradition, and elegance. I want each piece to allow the wearer to make a statement about themselves, whatever that statement may be. In my endeavors to create and develop a nationally recognized brand name that is proudly made in the USA, I strive to use my design and influence to teach and do philanthropic work in the creative arena.

All joyarte designs begin with the inspiration of stones like ruby, sapphire and tourmaline, and semi-precious stones like citrine, peridot, and aquamarine joined with superior metals of sterling, gold filled, and solid karat gold, incorporating the metal forms into the design. We pride ourselves on quality craftsmanship and diverse design. You can find us on the web at www.joyarte.com or email us at sales@joyarte.com.
